About

I commute from Bloomfield, NJ to Penn on the Montclair-Boonton Line of NJTransit. I also take the 1 from Penn to midtown. This is my story.

  1. please please please as the guy on the LIRR does, take photos and post of the nasty cell phone annoying loud people just yapping away about nothing while bothering everyone. I can’t stand them. My friend calls me the cell phone avenger cuz I”m always shutting them up. Only NJ Transit does not have a policy for this. Thanks

  2. Hi –
Nice blog. Thanks for giving me the shout-out. Happy commuting!

    • I just added the link! Thank YOU for your great network. It really has made a difference in my commuting life! 🙂

  3. A Baristanet reader posted your URL in a comment to a piece I wrote recently (http://www.baristanet.com/2010/07/on_time_way_off.php), and I immediately added your blog to my RSS reader. Great stuff, and I feel every bit of your pain…

  4. can we run your summer fridays pic with a link back to you?

  5. This is an awesome blog. We started a new site about New Jersey as we did not like most sites out there (www.youdontknowjersey.com). 3 out of 4 of us admins are Bloomfield residents so we feel your commute pain!! Would you mind if we included your site on our blogroll?

  6. I take the train from B-field. I think you are too hard on yourself, its not the commute from hell.

  7. Hi,
Just started reading your blog today, and I really enjoy it. I think cup holders are a lovely idea, however I would take cleaner trains over cup holders any day!…I think the real commute from hell begins when there are the dreaded delays, whether it be from signal problems, mechanical issues, people not wanting to pay for a ticket and getting a police escort off the train..etc, etc.
I had a rough commute a little while ago, when I realized the passenger next to me was puking all the way to Penn!…But I guess that was his/her commute from hell, not mine….

LOL. Your comment reminds me of this well-dressed guy who would get on the train at Penn and make an announcement asking for $$ to “just get him home”. People were about to reach into their wallet but then another passenger said, “Hey, that was your story yesterday”. The guy got upset and as he was getting off the train at Secaucus, he looked at the passenger and slid his hand across his own throat like he was threatening to kill him. You never know what crazy people are capable of doing!

Pictures are much easier than videos because I’m quicker with taking a picture than I am a video! BUT if there’s ever any video-worthy action going on, I’ll be sure to try to capture it! 🙂
